This was Maxwell's first pinewood derby and he really enjoyed it. He had his own ideas of how his car wanted to look. Our landlord/friend had a saw that we were able to use to cut out the shape. Max found some stickers and paint and he did most of it by himself. He chose the name "Lightning, Charger, Strike" for his car, so he put the initials on the front.
The top 6 cars "won" and received trophies and a certificate and were invited to the regional race at the mall. He thought it was pretty cool that he got a trophy.
We took the whole family to the Mall to watch Max race in the regional pinewood derby. We were pretty much amateurs, but Max enjoyed being a part of the event. We didn't go home with another trophy, but next year we will dominate :)
