Germany - Last Part (I promise)
When we left Munich Sunday Morning, we went on an even faster bullet train than the first. It looked so futuristic. Much nicer and cleaner than the first one.
Back at Stuttgart we wanted to visit the TV Tower and ride to the top. We could see it for miles away but didn't know exactly how to get there. A few different people told us a few different routes. We decided to make our own. We got off what we thought was the closest Underground stop and started walking in the direction of the tower. We did not know that it was on the top of a hill and we were at the bottom of that hill. After a long hike uphill we finally reached the TV tower.
We also didn't know that on this very day there was a deadly storm moving across Europe. The winds had killed a few people in France already that day. This happened to be the day that we chose to go up the TV Tower which is 217 meters tall. It was one of the scariest things I have ever done. I was holding on for dear life and would only move to the edge for a quick picture. It was the strongest wind I had ever encountered. You could lean into the wind and it would hold your body weight. All of the little kids were screaming since they felt like they could be lifted off the floor. I wouldn't go to the upper deck where there were no walls and only a small railing to hold on to. Matt went up and then quickly back down again. It would have been better on a much calmer day so that we could take some good pics.

This is our favorite church, The Stiftskirche in Stuttgart.
Stuttgart has a world-famous zoo that we visited. It has beautiful gardens that once belonged to King Willhelm who wanted a park made just for him in 1829. It was turned into a public zoo many years later but the grounds are so beautiful. The zoo is also different from the plexi-glass and giant walls in American zoos. Safety does not seem to be there number one concern. Guests can litteraly reach in and touch the animals. Even the tigers. You are not even an arms length from the tiger cage and only steel bars seperate the two of you. We got as close as we felt comfortable to take the picture and Matt was already planning and escape route and "what if?" scenarios if the animals got out.
He as not happy at all!! He was pacing back and forth and snarling the whole time.

I flew out Wed. morn and Matt had a few days left for work. On my flight out it was a very cold and stormy day in Germany and once we got out of the clouds I snapped this shot of the TV Tower rising from the clouds. Much more majestic in real life.
