Christmas 2007

I (Matt) have decided to give you all an update of our Christmas and New Year's. Christmas in the Mangum home was welcomed with screams and cheers when Max first saw the toys that Santa brought him. It turns out that he was a good boy after all. He got all of the things he told Santa he wanted. I was a little surprised. He was thrilled to find the "Cars" tent and slumber set and so distracted by it's imposing presence in our family room that he did not see the thing he wanted most when he first looked at his loot. He began to turn to Jen and ask, "Where's my ..." and then he saw it as he let out a squeal, "...Aqua Doodle." He had really, really wanted a Dora and Diego Aqua Doodle pad and accessories. The jolly, old, fat man came through and delivered. Max was pretty pleased. Santa even managed to deliver the toy that Max added to the list late on Christmas Eve when his uncle Marc asked, "What do you want for Christmas?" Max listed the previously mentioned items and added, "a shovel!" It looked remarkably like a kitty litter pooper scooper but I suppose Santa must have stopped somewhere en route to our house and scrambled to find the closest thing he could. Max was also fascinated with the crumbs and near empty (or hardly full) glass of milk that Santa left behind. He really got into the Santa thing this year which was obviously alot of fun for us as parents to share with him. He was also very good about reminding us all..."What happened on Christmas, Daddy?" "I don't know Max. What happened?" Smiling, Max would reply, "Jesus was born."
