Maxwell's Baptism Weekend

Maxwell had his birthday on January 1 and we celebrated his birthday by visiting the Indianapolis Children's Museum.  We have spent a lot of time there and we love it! They change the exhibits so often that there is always something new to see.  Not many people venture out in the cold on New Year's Day so we never had to wait in any lines.  A new thing that we enjoyed this visit was what they called the "Yule Slide" where they built a slide from the 2nd floor down to the first floor and you slide down on a piece of fabric and it was surprisingly fast.  It reminded me of the slide in the Christmas Story where the elves pushed the boy down after he visited with Santa. 

 

 

 

While we lived in Virginia it was a tradition of Maxwell's to go out to dinner to Red Robin for his birthday.  The closest one we have here is in Indianapolis so we continued the tradition and found the one by the museum and Max got to eat his birthday ice cream sundae just like old times.

  

Maxwell turning 8 was a big deal for him since he looked forward to being baptized for so long.  Maxwell was baptized on Jan. 5, 2013 and lots of our family and friends supported him. Adam and Kathleen and their 3 girls drove down from Minnesota and Don and Diane came up from Texas.  We had a great time while they visited with us and it was so great that they were able to participate in the baptism program.  Maxwell able to make all of the decisions when it came to who would do what in the program.

We had a joint birthday party for Max (8) and Clare (4) with cupcakes, ice cream, and presents.  I didn't get any photos of the party but I did get a photo of Clay making a mess while eating his cupcake.

 Maxwell's primary teacher was able to take a family photo for us after church one Sunday.  He also wanted to take a mock picture of Maxwell receiving the Holy Ghost.  I think they came out really nice.
