Ice Skating with Dad

We went ice skating as a family on Martin Luther King Jr. Day but Matt and Max were the only ones that got on the ice. They had a great time. Max has been asking us to go ice skating for a few years now and we finally got up the courage to take him for his first time. Matt hasn't been on the ice for about 8 years so he needed a little encouragement as well. The Reston Town Center has a beautiful outdoor ice skating rink.

Max spent a good deal of time holding onto the sides. Keeping his ankles straight was hard for him to control. We only had one melt down on the ice but soon he got the hang of it. Enough to want to go back.
This was the last one for the day. By the end he was able to go around the whole rink without holding onto the rails. Holding Dad's hand was a must though. I even think Max was bribed by his father to not hold the rails.

Looks like fun. That last picture of them holding hands and looking at each other is so cute!

I can't remember if we ever talked or e-mailed. I loved your pictures!
